My Hebrews 11

THIS PAGE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. ALWAYS :)

My parents. I've heard the phrase "you are your mother's daughter" about every other day. However, my mom would say I act like my dad. Long story short, these two have been married for 30 years, and they're ADORABLE. Ask anybody. My parents are fun. And they have fun. I get my sarcasm from my dad, and my travel fever from my mom. What in the world would I do without them? I'm lucky to have them.

The grandparents.
Probably the coolest set of people I've ever known. Had to update their profile because they both passed away within 8 months of each other. My grandma died in October 2012 and my grandpa in May 2013 - the day before what would have been her 80th birthday. My grandpa's death was accidental, and that's something my family is learning to trust God with. We all decided he went home to be with his sweetie so they could celebrate her birthday together. Fitting. I could have had another 20 years with them and they would still have been gone too soon. Love you guys, completely. You give me that old-fashioned side that I'll be happy I have in the future. Gosh, Lord. My heart hurts.

Sara. Our brothers grew up as friends, so we were forced into the awesomeness of our frienship at a young age. I'm talkin' pigtails and overalls. That's how far Sara and I go back. She moved away from me in 4th grade, but we made a deal over watermelon that we'd make time for each other. Here we are over 15 years later, and she's GETTING MARRIED!! I'm honored to be on the sidelines of all the upcoming fun in her life! If you have maid of honor tips, PLEASE. HELP ME OUT.

Jill. It was definitely love at first flight, as we call it. We met at a friend's wedding briefly. She says I was rude at first. But technically I like to say we met in Africa. Because it's true. You REALLY get to know a person when you spend any amount of time with them in a 3rd world country. She's seen and smelled me at my worst. And I love her for that. Jill is also way more courageous than I am. And no, that's not me being humble, it's just the TRUTH. Homegirl is nuts. People like her are what keep me dreaming BIG dreams and remind me how BIG our God is.

Brothers. Jake (with pumpkin) and Kelly. Or, Cake and Jelly as we call them. Kelly is the oldest. He's the type to wear a snuggie. And Jake is a giant third grader who says things like, "I'm just being Miley." They're ridiculous, smart, and athletic. Their joking nature is highly addictive, and their spirits are contagious. Simply, they're the best. We're competitors by nature, and there's never a dull moment when the three of us are together. I love them. Kelly is married with a baby girl on the way. Miss KD will be here in February. :) And Jake is getting married in April 2013. My how my family is growing. Two sister-in-laws that are like my friends, it's a good time around the Scott family.

The Taylors. Austin and Tiffanie. (and me and Jill!) I grew up with Austin - became great friends in HS and all throughout college - and decided to travel the world together! But first - he had to sweep this beauty off her feet! I met Tiffanie shortly after they started dating and as Austin will say, "It was love at first sight." He's a dude that will challenge your thinking, help you bring your wildest dreams into fruition, and make you laugh all the while. Tiffanie has a heart of gold, a passion for all things beautiful, and she'll make life seem like a breeze even (and especially) when it's not. Their example and friendship is something I couldn't have even thought to ask God for - and He gave it to me nonetheless. Praise God for friendship - ....as iron sharpens iron!

The Unexpected. Jake. Yep. He's got the same name as my brother. GROSS. But we make it work. Talk about a story for the movies. This is one of those I didn't like him at first, thought he was super annoying and lame, but he loved me from the minute he knew me, yet didn't approach me for two years because it turns out he CAN be lame sometimes, beautiful kind of stories. We met in college in 2010 and didn't hit it off until late summer of 2012 (after college was over!) He's the breath of fresh air that I (and several friends) had been praying I'd find. And the best part is I wasn't even looking. God has a funny way of taking care of business when you begin to do the same. We've been together since August 2012 and I can honestly say I'm 100% sure I'll marry this man. He's a middle school youth pastor and a total NERD. But I dig it. Completely. Stay tuned. :)

Baby Ray. Bethany. The little sister I never had. Yet she's quicker than most 22 year olds I know. I met her brother in junior high, figured out HE was lame, and then become friends with her instead. Love ya Drew! We've grown up together, but you could say we took our friendship to the next level in 2011. I pour into her life, and she returns the favor. We have a lot of deep conversations, expressing fears and dreams about the future, and we LOVE coffee and pineapple. This is why I love her. She's a junior at OBU and is majoring in WORLD CHANGE. She just got home from Africa in Jan 2013 and we can't wait to see what's next!

My church. There are many moving parts, and influential giants to boot, but I'll just name a few. The Tribbles. Jimmie has been the youth minister at FBC for 25 years. No, I'm not kidding. He's as rock solid as they come, and you can't go anywhere in MWC with him without someone knowing who he is. He pours into students day in and day out, and we love him for it. He's got a daughter who I've been lucky enough to learn under since before I can remember. Kourtney is a gem. A doctor now, she's married to the coolest dude possible, and MAN she is divine. Jim's wife Karen has been such a consistent lifeline in my life, I'm indebted to her.

Then there's the girls. They have many names, ages, and personalities, and some of them don't even live in the same city as me. But I love each of them unconditionally. I'm lucky enough to be called a teacher to these lovelies, and my heart just grins when I think of who they'll become in the future. I always say the greatest way to learn is by teaching, and BOY do these ladies keep me on my toes. They're smart, athletic, funny, cute, disasters, and goin' somewhere. Couldn't be more proud of them. I think about them all day, and am completely at their disposal.
